Tuition/Payment Policy

2022 – 2023 Season

Tuition Overview

Tuition levels have been established by the Board of Directors of CYH to ensure that the association covers all the costs associated with operating the program. Examples of costs associated with operating the program include, but are not limited to the following:

· League fees, practice ice, skill/goalie clinics, jerseys and socks, evaluations, equipment, uniforms, coaching education program (CEP), and administrative costs. NEW THIS YEAR - U10 - U14 Tuition will include funding for each team for outside tournament fees up to $1,000.

As an association with non-profit status, we need to ensure that we fully cover all the costs of the program and reduce any risk associated with non-payment and/or delinquent payment of tuition fees. The CYH tuition policy and team assignment process for the 2022-2023 hockey season is outlined below. Payments will be spread over a number of months to ease the tuition burden on our members. Tuition is required to be paid in full by tuition payment schedule detailed below. Players with outstanding balances will not be allowed to participate in any CYH practices, games, or activities until their account is made current. If there are any questions regarding the policy or the balance on your account, please contact CYH Treasurer, Mark Ruggiero at mruggiero11@gmail.com.

Outstanding Tuition Balances

NO player will be permitted to participate in any activities for the 2022-2023 season unless all tuition and/or fees from any previous seasons have been paid in full. There will be NO exceptions made to this policy.

Registration/Evaluations

All players must pay a $75 non-refundable registration/evaluation fee to CYH before or at the first evaluation date for the following divisions:  U8 (Mite), U10 (Squirt), U12 (Pee Wee), U14 (Bantam) and U16/U18 (Midget).

Please note that there are no evaluations for players participating in CYH’s Learn to Skate (LTS) and U6 Mites.  LTS players pay in full at the time of registration, and U6’s have scheduled payments as noted below.

Player Placement Notification

Players will be notified of their team placement and assigned Head Coach for the 2022-2023 season after evaluations.   All players in good standing who attend evaluations will be placed on a team for the 2022-2023 season.

Tuition/Tuition Payment Schedule

Tuition and the payment schedule for said tuition for the 2022-2023 season is as follows:

***U6 "Future Prospects" program enables these players to practice one night a week over the season with the U8 players. This will start at the same time that the U6 Mites start their season (start date TBD).

All CYH Midget team tuitions are based on said teams participation in the Valley Hockey Leagues half-season midget program consisting of 11 league games, U8 Mites full season consisting of 25 games while all CYH Squirt (U10) through Bantam (U14) team tuitions are based on said teams participation in the Valley Hockey Leagues regular full-season travel program consisting of 35 league games

Please note that there will be a $25 charge for each returned check.

Jersey Policy

Players (U6 – Midget) are required to have CYH approved jerseys and socks for the 2022 - 2023 season to be worn for all games. LTS and U6 will be provided uniform jerseys at the start of their season as part of their tuition. For U8 – Midget in the 2022-2023 hockey season, game jerseys, socks and uniforms will be available for purchase and to order. Fittings will occur prior to the season. A separate email and announcement will be made regarding details of fitting nights and costs for uniforms.

In the event that any player loses, misplaces, or damages their jersey or gear, a new one must be purchased at the expense of the player/parent.

Multi-Player/Sibling Discounts

Families with more than one (1) CYH participant in our full-time programs are entitled to the following tuition discounts:

• Families with a 2nd CYH participant will pay $50 less on his/her tuition cost

• Families with a 3rd CYH participant will pay $100 less on his/her tuition cost

• Families with a 4th CYH participant will pay $150 less on his/her tuition cost

All multi-player/sibling discounts will be applied to the eligible participant’s final tuition payment on current balances. In the event that tuition is not paid per the above schedule or other approved agreement, the player will no longer be entitled to any discounts. Please note that the sibling discount does not apply to players registered as goalies or any of the alternate programs offered in CYH.

Tuition Assistance

This program allows CYH members to request a modified or deferred payment plan, partial tuition scholarship or other exceptions to the tuition policy.  The funding for this program will come from excess funds from fundraising efforts.  The amount in the annual pool will depend on the level of excess funds.  TUITION PAYMENTS WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS PROGRAM.  Details of the financial assistance program can be found on our website.  The CYH Board of Directors realizes that on occasion financial difficulties do create issues for families. However, unless prior arrangements have been made for the payment of outstanding tuition balances, CYH expects that payments for outstanding tuition balances be made on time and in full.

No Pay/No Play

In the event that any player has not paid their tuition in full or made arrangements for an alternate payment plan with the CYH Treasurer by the above tuition payment due date(s), then that player will not be allowed to participate in CYH activities (on-ice practices and/or games) until such time as the outstanding tuition payment has been made in full.

Tuition Refund Requests

Any player wishing to withdraw from CYH after his or her tuition has been paid in full, must do so in writing, to the CYH Board of Directors. Tuition refund requests will be granted on an individual case by case basis. Upon receiving this written request, the player’s withdrawal date will be established. Tuition refund requests will be considered only upon written request to the CYH Board of Directors for cases of illness and/or injury that prohibit the player from participating in the sport of ice hockey for the balance of the 2022-2023 hockey season. No refund will be granted for any reason other than the aforementioned, including, but not limited to, players leaving CYH to join another organization, whether hockey or not; to play for a high school team; and/or due to dissatisfaction and/or problems with coaches, teammates, ice officials, and/or leagues. Insurance, tryout fees, league fees, and USA Hockey and/or Massachusetts Hockey registration fees are not refundable at any time for any reason. The time frame, in which a tuition refund check will be issued, if approved, may be subject to availability of program funds.
