In just a few months, the Town of Groton will be flooded with hockey players as over 1,000 boys and girls along with their families will travel from all across New England, Canada and everywhere in between to take part in the 42nd annual Tourney in the Woods! We are currently seeking sponsorship and support from local businesses to make it a huge success.
For over 40 years, youth hockey players in New England have gathered in Groton from December 26th through December 30th to play in this ever growing hockey tournament. The event has grown to be one of the largest youth hockey tournaments in the region. The tournament provides an opportunity for teams at multiple age levels and divisions to play in a five-day tournament full of fun, competition, skill building, teamwork, and memory making hockey!
The Tourney in the Woods holds true to the values that Crusaders Youth Hockey (CYH) stands for. CYH is a non-profit, co-ed youth hockey program that focuses on fun and learning. We teach our youth about teamwork, dedication and commitment, all lessons that they will carry with them for a lifetime. We aim to offer these children an incredible on-ice learning experience and part of the CYH program allows all CYH members (8U-14U) to participate in the Tourney in the Woods at no additional cost.
The success of our tournament is based on the continued commitment of over 100 teams returning each year, the dedication of players and their families, and the incredible amount of donations and volunteer work that are generously provided year after year. Funds we raise from the tournament help to subsidize expensive equipment for families who otherwise may not be able to afford it, reduce the costs of ice rental, provide skills training for players, and defray the costs of hosting league events.

Option One – The Moose Snack Shack
The Moose Snack Shack sponsor will have your company name and logo proudly displayed to show everyone who stops by for a hot chocolate or snack that your business sponsored this location. Your company name/logo will also appear on the “mini boards” that are used for all 8U games during the tournament and the regular season of CYH hockey. (December – March)
Your company logo will also appear on the CYH/Tourney in the Woods Website.
Option Two – The Skate Shop
Where the Moose stomps his hoofs and the players sharpen their skates. Each year a brand-new skate sharpening machine is purchased to keep players edges sharp. At the end of the tournament the machine is raffled off to one lucky winner. At the Skate Shop your company name/logo will proudly be displayed to show everyone that your business sponsored this location. Your company name/logo will also appear on the “mini boards” that are used for all 8U games during the tournament and the regular season of CYH hockey (December – March)

Crusaders Youth Hockey (CYH) is a non-profit organization that provides a co-ed ice hockey program to the youths of Pepperell, Ashby, Townsend, Groton, Dunstable, Shirley, Ayer and surrounding towns. CYH focuses its efforts on the recreational benefits of hockey in an effort to instill lifelong qualities of responsibility, sportsmanship, team play, and personal achievement in all of our players. This has been made possible by the tireless efforts of our volunteer Board of Directors, coaches and team parents and by the generous monetary contributions by local businesses and individuals.
